'Off the Record' podcast offers inside look from the Sacramento County DA

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Love true crime? It doesn't get truer or more local than a new podcast called "Off the Record.

"Off The Record" is hosted by Deputy District Attorney Catrina Ranum with the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office and offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the local justice system works.

"The value of the podcast is that it helps educate the public about what law enforcement does and how we prosecute these cases," District Attorney Thien Ho said.

New task force aims to combat human trafficking crisis in Sacramento County

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Sacramento County law enforcement will now work with the California Attorney General's Office and Homeland Security in a new task force aimed at combating human trafficking.

"We found over a 5-year period in Sacramento County there have been over 13,000 victims of sexual trafficking, and that number is grossly underrated," said Sacramento District Attorney Thien Ho.

NorCal district attorneys reach settlement with Raley's supermarkets for selling expired drugs

Five different California district attorneys and Raley's Supermarkets have reached a settlement over the grocery chain's business practices.

Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho said the suit, which was filed in Yolo County, was regarding the sale and offer of expired over-the-counter drugs. Ho was also joined by the district attorneys of Yolo, San Joaquin, Shasta and Sonoma counties.
